From trafficking survivor to Oxbridge parent

Halimot was trafficked into Europe at the age of 9. She was never given the opportunity to finish school. Today she is an entrepreneur running her own successful cake-making business, and has raised four sons, one of them now being offered a place to study at Oxbridge this autumn.

Ella’s has supported Halimot for a number of years. Her story reflects the resilience of many survivors of trafficking, and the transformative impact that consistent, long-term support can have, not just for the survivors, but for the next generation as well.

Emily Chalke, Founding Director at Ella’s, says, ‘I feel so moved by this amazing news, knowing Halimot’s story and how she was never given the opportunity to study, having been trafficked to Europe at age 9. And now all her hard work, perseverance and commitment has led to her raising exceptional boys who are a credit to her and her resilience’,

We’re so incredibly proud of Halimot, and her son for their resilience and hard-work and we’re so excited to hear how his educational journey goes.women in our community.
