Staff nominated for top award

We’re delighted to share that we’ve been shortlisted in the ‘Rebuilding Lives’ category at this year’s Anti-Slavery Day Awards run by the Human Trafficking Foundation, with two of our team members nominated by survivors.

It’s difficult to get across how important our amazing support workers are to the survivors and families we work with at Ella’s. They are caring, committed and highly skilled, and we are so proud of them. It’s brilliant to see our team recognised in this way. Melisa is one of the women who nominated:

During my time at Ella’s, at times I’ve felt down, stressed and anxious, but [my support worker] helps me find hope. Without this support, I can’t really imagine or think about what my life would be like. The way she treats me and talks to me is special, she will never say or make me think ‘no we can’t do this’. She has helped me realise I’m strong, and there are solutions to challenges. She’s told me I’m clever and that she believes I’ll have a good future, and I believe her. My life has hope now, this is the difference [my support worker] has made.
— Melisa

We’ll find out who’s won in October. Huge thank you to the Human Trafficking Foundation panel for putting us through, and congratulations to all the brilliant nominees at this year’s awards.
