Summer Appeal
Little moments can make a lasting difference to survivors
This summer, we're asking for your help to raise the funds we need to continue supporting survivors and their children. Every additional gift you make before the 7th August 2026 will be doubled, up to the amount of £3,000. This means any extra support you’re able to give, even a small amount will have twice the impact.
Raising support for families like Esther’s
Esther is a survivor of domestic abuse and sexual exploitation. Forced into prostitution by her partner and held against her will, she eventually managed to escape by climbing through an open window. She ended up fleeing for her life.
Her and her 7 year old son, Josh, were referred to Ella’s in October 2025. Surgery in January left Esther unable to use public transport. Her support worker at Ella’s helped her secure accommodation close to her son's school, preventing disruption to his education. We also ensured that they were allocated a ground-floor apartment, as due to Josh’s trauma, he has a fear of confined spaces and is unable to use lifts.
“You have helped us more than words can say. You have supported us both emotionally and financially during a very difficult time. Your kindness, patience and care have made us feel stronger, supported and much less alone”
We also gave Josh a tablet to help with his homework, and secured an annual pass to London Zoo so he and his mum could make happy memories together (Josh loves animals!).
Esther and Josh are also regular attenders to our community events and day trips. We’ve love having them!
Being there through it all
Our Children & Families service provides intensive support to families in Ella's network, whether that's helping children access counselling or providing essentials such as school uniforms.
As the summer approaches, we know more families will need our help, with the holidays bringing extra pressure for mums already struggling to make ends meet. With your support, we can continue to be there.
Parenting is hard at the best of times, but for the women we support, many of whom have been uprooted, abused, and exploited, some since childhood, the challenges are even greater.
Could you make a gift today to support mothers and children rebuilding their lives after trafficking, sexual exploitation and violence?
How your donation can help build a new future for women like Esther
At Ella's, we work with survivors and their families for as long as they need us, however they need us, to help them recover from trauma, navigate the challenges of parenting, and build the confidence, skills and networks they need to create a life that is safe and free for themselves and their children.
£30 could buy craft and play materials supporting a child's confidence and development.
£60 could fund our specialist support worker to lead a targeted play session for a child affected by trauma.
£100 could fund a family day trip during the summer holidays.
£660 could cover the costs of our specialist Children and Families Support Worker for one week.
By ticking the Gift Aid box when you make your donation, you will add another 25% to the value of your gift, meaning even more funds available to reach more women who need our support.
Thank you for supporting women like Esther by helping Ella’s be there.
